The colloid mill is driven by a motor through a belt drive to drive the rotating teeth (or called the rotor) and the matching fixed teeth (or called the stator) to rotate at a relatively high speed. The material is pressurized by its own weight or external pressure (which can be generated by a pump). The downward spiral impact force is subjected to strong shear force, friction force, high frequency vibration and other physical effects when the colloid is ground and the gap between the rotating teeth (the gap is adjustable), so that the material is effectively emulsified and dispersed and crushing to achieve the effect of ultra-fine crushing and emulsification of materials.

Vertical colloid mill: direct connection structure, when used for a long time, it is easy to cause the eccentricity of the shaft, so that the operation is not normal, and sometimes it even damages the grinding disc and the main shaft. At this time, professionals need to disassemble the internal structure for replacement and maintenance. However, this structure is theoretically easy to obtain higher running precision of the stator and rotor.

Horizontal colloid mill: It is not easy to cause the eccentricity of the shaft, and it is easy to replace, and as long as the corresponding belt is replaced, ordinary personnel can operate it. Through belt drive, it is more flexible than direct-connected structure drive.
