What affects the grinding results of horizontal sand mill.

In the actual production process of the sand mill/bead mill, the physical properties such as the density, hardness and particle size of the grinding media used have an important impact on the grinding efficiency.The main factors that affect the grinding efficiency include:

1. Reasonable grinding cavity structure;

2. Energy density;

3. Linear speed;

4. The grinding medium is fully circulated in the grinding cavity, and there is no dead angle;

5. The size, roundness and specific gravity of the grinding medium;

6. The ratio of material particle size to grinding medium diameter...

7. Velocity gradient between grinding media in the grinding chamber (velocity difference, the greater the velocity difference, the more efficient);


 Control of cooling water temperature

The cooling water temperature is one of the factors that play an important role in the grinding efficiency of the sand mill. When the grinding medium is in vigorous motion, the mechanical energy is converted into thermal energy, generating a large amount of heat.

As the temperature increases, the material to be ground will agglomerate, and the quality of the finished particles will decrease. The temperature of the cooling water directly affects the working temperature in the grinding chamber, thereby affecting the grinding efficiency.

From some experimental comparisons, it can be found that under the same conditions, the grinding efficiency of using 15°C chilled water is more than 30% higher than that of using 22°C circulating water. Therefore, proper control of the cooling water temperature can greatly improve the grinding efficiency.


Control of the linear speed of sand mill

The higher the linear speed of the sand mill, the greater the kinetic energy transferred to the beads, and the higher the efficiency of the sand mill. But does this mean that the higher the linear speed of the sand mill, the better the grinding effect? of course not! The disadvantages of the high linear speed of the sand mill are as follows:


The higher the line speed, the more serious the heat generation, the faster the machine heats up, and most materials have a temperature limit.


The higher the linear speed, the greater the impact on the grinding medium, and the matched grinding medium is likely to be broken.


The higher the line speed, the greater the wear and tear on the machine, so the material requirements for the manufacturing machine are also higher.


Actually,the real effective grinding area of the sand mill is the narrow area between the grinding disc and the barrel wall, and other parts are heat-generating areas; Therefore, the highest grinding efficiency can be obtained by using the appropriate linear speed to concentrate the grinding media in the effective grinding working area.. At present, the linear speed of sand mills of various manufacturers is different, generally between 9-14m/s, and the grinding efficiency is also different.
